Politeknik KK maintains status

Politeknik Kota Kinabalu has been re-certified for the MS ISO certification 9001:2008.

Its Director Roslee Yahya said the institution is fully committed to maintaining its excellent management system quality in providing education services at Certificates and Diploma levels in Engineering, Commerce and Hospitality.

This is in line with the institute's objective to become a leader in technical and vocational education centre to produce quality and innovative human capital that meet the needs of the present workforce.

Roslee said this in an exit meeting here following the three-day Surveillance Audit conducted by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd for the re-certification status.

The audit team led by Evelyn Liew Yuen Chun and assistant M. A. Kadir Johan looked into design and development of education programmes in the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, management of complaints handling and control of documents and records, among others.

MS ISO 9001:2008 is an accreditation that puts a benchmark of excellence amongst organisations and helps boost an organisation's image.

Since its inception in 1996, Politeknik Kota Kinabalu was first accredited the MS ISO 9001:2008 on Dec 4, 2007 and from next year, it will be evaluated under the latest version of MS ISO 9001:2015.
